From AJ's dad:
In memory of Albert (AJ). You left us one year ago today for a beter place but our lives will never be the same. You passed away at home with all of us around you and your dog curled up at your feet. Which was all you ever asked for. You were the strongest person I have ever known. Your mom was there when the Dr called to tell you that you were dying. She said you threw the phone against the wall and I never heard you mention it again. The challenges that life sent you were many, the wheel chair, the infections, and the pain were all met face to face and you never let them control your life. Every day since you left, sometime during the day I will think of you and tears come to my eyes. I don't cry for you because I know you believed in the resurrection of our lord and that you are in his care. I cry instead for my loss and the loss of all who knew you. You where my son, my friend, my confidant, and one of only two people who always gave me honest feedback when I was screwed up. They say a parent should never have to bury their child and I know that to be true. I also know every parent thinks their child is special, but you touched the lives of so many people in a positive way. Your honesty, candor, and sense of humor brought smiles to all you came in contact with. You are sadly missed. I thank god every day for the 31 years we had together and I will see you again!
